WCR operates a recycling center for hard-to-recycle items such as electronics, tires, and paper. Description: Good News Project is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit located in Wausau, WI. We are a registered e-CYCLING collector through the WI DNR's E-Cycle WI Program, open for electronics collection every Friday from 9am to 4pm, as well as occasional special events. We charge $0.49/lb (sole exception being smoke detectors - flat-rate $15), with all proceeds supporting our Health Equipment Lending Program (local loans of sanitized, used durable medical equipment to our community at no required cost) and our humanitarian shipments of durable medical equipment to those in need within the US as well as internationally. We accept almost all consumer electronics, as well as business devices. Collected electronics are prepared for final material recycling, then sent directly to an R2V3- and E-Stewards-certified, DNR-registered end recycler in Onalaska, WI, where an incredible 99.6% of the material taken in is reclaimed for use in future products!
