Drop-off recycling is available at the Sands Township Transfer Station located at 55 Flodin Road, approximately 4 miles south of the Sands Township Office Complex on M553.

Mackinac Island Solid Waste Handling Facility provides the handling of recycling, compost, and landfill materials. Compost is made from horse manure, food scraps, paper products, and yard waste. The matured compost is sold to the residence and businesses on the island.

Adams-Clermont Solid Waste District is responsible for reducing the amount of waste generated from Adams and Clermont Counties. That is accomplished through a variety of programs such as drop-off recycling sites and in-school recycling programs.
