Expanded listing for: Red Branch Baptist Church - Electronics and Paint Recycling
Materials:

Description: Woman's Missionary Union Electronics/Paint Recycling Drive The Red Branch Baptist Church WMU will host an electronics/paint recycling event on Saturday, April 20th from 9am till 5pm. Residents and businesses can drop off old or unused electronics and used latex paint free of charge at Red Branch Baptist Church, 1748 Old River Road, Carthage, NC 28327. Toxins from waste electronics are a serious environmental concern. Computers and consumer electronics contain toxic heavy metals such as lead, mercury, cadmium and beryllium and hazardous chemicals, such as brominated flame retardants. Latex paint needs to be dried up completely before it is disposed. Instead give it new life by bringing it to this recycling event where the paint will be re-blended and reused. The Red Branch WMU will be accepting the following items, excluding TELEVISIONS. Consumer Electronics: Vacuums, toaster ovens, toasters, blenders, crock pots, coffee makers, pots, pans, drills, saws, ANY POWER TOOLS, chainsaws, mowers, weed eaters, lamps, paper shredders, scanners, fax machines, VHS players/VCR, DVD players, cable boxes, satellite boxes, game systems, radios, stereos, speakers, washing machines, dryers, dish washers, a/c units, sewing machines, LCD televisions and LCD computer monitors, telephone cables, power cables, printer cables, AC/DC power adapters, Power Wheel/Peg Perego ride on toys Computer Electronics: PCs, laptops, netbooks, servers, network routers, switches, hubs, laser printers, copiers, smart phones, PDAs, tablets, modems, CD rom drives, Tape Drives, PC peripherals The hours for the recycling Event will be Saturday April 20th from 9:00am until 5:00pm. Paint: LATEX PAINT ONLY! No oil based, No Stains, No Polyurethane. Just latex paint in pint, quart, gallon and five gallon containers. NO AERESOL CANS! The Red Branch Baptist Church WMU has partnered with Carolina eRecyclers Corporation, a Moore County based electronics recycler, to purchase and properly dispose of the electronics and to recycle the paint. Carolina eRecyclers Corporation focuses on a ZERO-WASTE recycling strategy to recondition, re-use, or recycle all the electronics that they process. Proceeds from the event will be used to fund the continuing work of the WMU. Through the electronics recycling events Carolina eRecyclers has contributed thousands of dollars to local charities. Woman’s Missionary Union of North Carolina is a missions organization whose purpose is to challenge, prepare and equip Christian believers to be radically involved in the fulfillment of the Great Commission.
