Most of those items can be taken to the Washington County Household Hazardous Waste facility for free or a small charge. Washington County can be reached at (479) 444-1725. It is illegal to drop-off items other than the recyclable materials collected on site. There is a $1000 fine for illegally dropping unauthorized items at the site.

Description: The Kelly Township Recycling drop-off facility is located at 551 Zeigler Road, Lewisburg PA, 17837. It's available to Union County residents and is open on the 2nd & 4th Saturdays of each month from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm. The center has roll-off bins for the collection of aluminum cans, newspaper, Bi-metal cans (no painted cat food cans), cardboard, magazines, office paper, chipboard (ex; cereal boxes), #1 & #2 plastic bottles, & clear, brown & amber consumer glass containers. *Note, you may also recycle hard cover books in the magazine or cardboard roll-offs. The binding does not need to be removed from the hard cover books. Paper Christmas wrapping paper can also be recycled in the chipboard roll-off so long as it is not the foil type of wrapping paper. The drop-off location also allows for the collection of brush.
