Michiana Recycling & Disposal Services takes care of recycling in the Village of Marcellus. They provide "recycling bags" to Village Residents who pay for their service. These bags can be placed in or alongside the trash cart. Accepted IN the bag are the following materials: Newspapers, Office Paper, Junk Mail, Magazines, Paper Board, Phone Books, Hard Plastics which include kitchen, laundry and bathroom bottles and jugs, Empty Aerosol Cans, Aluminum Cans, Tin & Steel Cans, Pots & Pans, and Clear Glass Bottles & Jars. Cardboard is NOT to be put in bags, but should be flattened and place in trash cart. UNACCEPTABLE ITEMS INCLUDE: Yard Waste, Plastic Bags, Motor Oil Bottles, Pyrex Glass, Biohazards, Plastic Film, Chemicals, Needles, Toys, Oil, Trash, Styrofoam, Colored Glass, Medical Waste, Window Glass, Chemical Bottles, Flower Pots and Wood. NO GARBAGE OR YARD WASTE IN THE RECYCLING BAGS

Place all acceptable recyclable items into a single recycling container and set out each week on your regular collection day. 18-gallon recycling bins are available from the Sanitation Department at City Hall, 301 Washington Ave, Suite 413.
