The Solid Waste District makes recycling available to La Porte County residents through curbside residential recycling and providing three drop-off sites for recycling materials. They are only for mixed plastics, paper, cardboard, cans and glass accepted in our curbside program. Please do not dump any other materials at these sites.

Description: This area is NOT designed to collect hazardous waste (paints, oils, cleaners and other home chemicals), large bulky items (furniture and appliances), or electrical items (T.V’s, computers, radios, microwaves, VCR’s). Most of those items can be taken to the Washington County Household Hazardous Waste facility for free or a small charge. Washington County can be reached at (479) 444-1725. It is illegal to drop-off items other than the recyclable materials collected on site. There is a $1000 fine for illegally dropping unauthorized items at the site.
