Description: The La Porte County Solid Waste District was formed in 1991 to reconcile the abundance of materials entering the waste stream. In addition to providing recycling services with the goal of waste reduction, the district is also involved in assuring the disposal capacity of the remaining solid wastes generated in the District.

(Must be clean of plastic, plywood, OSB, glue, gypsum materials, insulation, foam products, and vinyl) Used pallets and packaging materials Don’t's: Any materials containing CCA treatment, Creosote, asbestos or lead paint Plywood, OSB or engineered lumber containing glue Metal products (Wood may contain nails but must be clear of bolts, conduit and reinforced steel.) Bulk leaves and grass Railroad tie Shingles and siding House hold waste Concrete and rocks Radioactive materials or tires
