Description: The La Porte County Solid Waste District was formed in 1991 to reconcile the abundance of materials entering the waste stream. In addition to providing recycling services with the goal of waste reduction, the district is also involved in assuring the disposal capacity of the remaining solid wastes generated in the District.

Description: Used motor oil: Limit 5 gallons per visit. Drain used liquid into a clean, reusable, sealable container, such as a milk jug. Do not collect in bleach bottles. Do not mix with other liquids (such as gasoline). It is recommended that car batteries be taken directly back to store where purchased.
