Description: Acceptable items for placement in the Medication Kiosk include expired, unused, controlled/non-controlled, over-the-counter, as well as hazardous medications. Unacceptable deposits include illegal drugs, liquid containers with more than four ounces in them, and aerosols spray cans. Acceptable items for the Sharps Kiosk include sharps such as needles, syringes, lancets, auto injectors, and infusion sets. These must be disposed of in a sharps container, which must be puncture resistant, non-see through bottles such as a bleach bottle or one-pound coffee can. Unacceptable items include loose sharps, blood-soaked items, glass containers, or paper or plastic bags.
