Description: Our New Bedford Savers store is a for profit company which serves the community through employing community members, supporting our nonprofit partner - the Epilepsy Foundation, as well as a variety of other nonprofit organizations, and recycling. Savers stores are industry leaders in textile reuse and one of the largest recyclers of textiles in the world. Last year our New Bedford store alone kept 1.3 million lbs. of unwanted items out of landfills. The company as a whole kept 7 billion lbs. of unwanted items out of landfills. The core purpose of our Savers store is to improve lives through the power of reuse. Your donations play a key role in many ways in helping us to fulfill our core purpose. First, your donations provide much needed revenue to our nonprofit partner – the Epilepsy Foundation and the programs they offer. Your donations help us to provide essential items to other nonprofit organizations that we also support and partner with. These organizations include the Red Cross, the Catholic Ministries, homeless shelters, animal rescues & shelters, as well as local schools. Our New Bedford store has been in operation since 1997 and has provided employment to local residents for twenty years. We currently employ 55 team members. We also work with the New Directions Program and help them by employing “at risk” adolescents, between the ages of 16 – 21, providing them with employment opportunities and work experience. We also supply recycled items to developing countries which helps them to create jobs which in turn enables people in these countries to earn a living wage and reinvest earnings into their local economies. Your donations also provide affordable value to budget conscious customers in our community and create a broader variety of merchandise to our store, which increases the chances of shoppers uncovering that treasure they’ve been looking for. And of course, the recycling of your donations keeps unwanted items out of landfills, which helps everyone. TVI, Inc. d/b/a Savers is a for profit paid fundraiser accepting donations of secondhand clothing and household goods on behalf of Epilepsy Foundation New England, Address: 335 Main Street, Unit 8, Wilmington, MA 01887, Phone: (617)506-6041, whose mission is to stop seizures and Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy (SUDEP), find a cure and overcome the challenges created by epilepsy through efforts including education, advocacy, and research to accelerate ideas into therapies.
