NoHaz offers one-day collections of household hazardous waste for residents of member communities. 2017 member communities include:
Townships: Addison, Groveland, Independence, Oakland, Orion, Oxford, Rose, Springfield, Waterford
Cities: Lake Angelus, Ponitac, Rochester, Richester Hills
Villages: Lake Orion, Leonard, Oxford
Some communities charge residents to participate.

Description:
The Marquette County Solid Waste Management Authority is a dual stream recycling facility. Via a residential curbside collection and drop off service, we receive recyclable materials in two streams: Fiber and Rigid.
We operate a small scale MRF and baler on site. Rigid (plastic/metal/glass), materials are separated in the MRF. Glass and ferrous material is removed. Currently we market a 1-7 bale product.
Our fiber product is a residential mix comprised of OCC and mixed paper. This product is baled on site and shipped to market.
Currently, we receive 155/TPM. 70% Fiber and 30% Rigid.
The overall goal of the program is to provide a cost effective recycling option for the municipalities of Marquette County, local school districts/universities, and civic groups. The program is available to those who choose to participate. Currently, 15 of the 22 municipalities of Marquette County participate in our dual stream program.

Barry County Recycles and the Barry County Solid Waste Oversight Committee (SWOC) work to support and expand recycling in Barry County.
The semi-annual Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) and Scrap Tire Collection event is sponsored by the Barry County Solid Waste Oversight Committee with thanks to the Barry County Fair Board, Waste Management, Barry-Eaton District Health Dept., Barry County Substance Abuse Task Force, Sheriff’s Dept., City of Hastings Police Dept., Padnos, Michigan Department of Environment Great Lakes and Energy, Padnos and local pharmacies.
