Businesses may set up a commercial recycling account with MARS for collection services or self-haul to a recycling processor. Current collection sites are located at: Standing Bear Trailhead (near the intersection of South 6th Street & Perkins Street) Beatrice Skate Park (near the intersection of Center Street & West Court Street). Midwest Area Refuse Solutions (MARS) offers a weekly curbside recycling service for paper, plastic, and cans. Residential curbside recycling service is $7.50 per month. Please call (402) 228-5211, and select Option 4 to enroll in this service.

Examples: It is taking a byproduct or waste stream such as a retired street sweeper brush and giving it a 2nd life as a backscratcher for horses or cattle. It is taking a decommissioned fire hose and giving it an extended life as a boat dock fender. It is taking an obsolete ski lift cable and giving it a second life as hand railing in a luxury condo building. With yards in Arizona, Iowa, Texas, Ohio, the Carolinas, Colorado, we have interest in opportunities all across the United States! MNIS Recycling accepts aluminum, tin, newspaper, magazines, office paper, plastic, and cardboard. The drive-thru is located next door to the Prairie Hill Landfill. In addition, drop off trailers are available at Holdrege Market Place, 14th and Burlington Street and the City Parking Lot at 4th and Grant.
