Description: Current Wind Closing Policy: When winds reach 25 mph the staff will determine if waste can be contained. If not, haulers will be called and notified the time of closing. If the Landfill closes before 1:00 pm it may reopen the next regular business day an hour early, unless the landfill is already scheduled to be closed that day, or if winds are too high that morning to open for business. If you are not sure if the landfill will be open, call 877-982-4288 to confirm. If it is windy and you get the answering machine, the landfill is probably closed. Covered Load Policy: To avoid an additional $20.00 fee all loads brought to the landfill must be entirely covered with a tarp, snow fence or similar item.. This includes lumber and large objects. Ropes alone are not considered a cover. Certain "difficult to cover loads" may be exempted on a case by case basis by the scale attendant.
