Cold Lake Recycling Centre: M-F 8:00am-5:00pm, Cold Lake Recycling Centre Bins: 24 hrs

Materials:

Description: Recycling and Organic Waste are collected bi-weekly on alternating weeks. Materials are to be placed out the same day as your regular garbage collection. Recycling is collected year round, while organic waste is collected from April 1 until November 15. Clear or Transparent Blue Bags are to be used for curbside collection of the following materials: Aluminum Cans, Beverage Containers (cans, bottles, milk & juice jugs/cartons & boxes), Clean Aluminum Foil & Plates, Glass Bottles & Jars (please remove lids & caps), Plastic Bottles & containers used for beverages, cleaners, windshield washer fluid and other household liquids (please remove caps & lids), Plastic Tubs & lids for yogurt, margarine, sour cream, cottage cheese and ice cream (please remove lids & caps), Plastic Bags including grocery, retail store carry out (please, empty & remove receipts), bread, produce, dry cleaning bags, rinsed milk bags. Separate Grocery Bags are to be used for curbside collection of the following materials: Clean/Dry Paper, Cards, Catalogues, Envelopes, Flyers, Junk Mail, Magazines, Newspapers, Non-Foil Gift Wrap, Paper Egg Cartons & Drink Trays, Paperback Books, Phone Book. The following Cardboard items must be flattened, bundled & securely tied with string in armload size bundles approximately 2ft x 3ft x 8in: Appliance Boxes, Pizza Boxes, Cereal Boxes (please remove plastic liner), Shoe Boxes, Cracker/Cookie Boxes, Paper Towel Rolls, Tissue Boxes, Detergent Boxes Please note: There is no limit to the amount of recycling collected bi-weekly at the curb 24 hour bins are available outside the Cold Lake Recycling Centre for household recyclables. All other recycling must be dropped off within centre operating hours. Organic Waste:All kitchen & yard waste must be bagged in heavy paper or compostable bags. Baseline Recycling Center Hours of operation are: Monday thru Saturday 7 am to 5 pm and Open Sunday 9 am to 7 pm.

Description: Residents that Pay the Solid Waste Assessment to Marion County can use anyone of the 18 Recycling Centers at no charge. Residents can bring in thier household garbage and recyclables, plus other items. Items accepted for recycling include: Glass bottles sorted by color, rinsed, lids removed Accepting All Plastics: all plastics #1 through #5 and #7. No number #6 - Sorry No Styrofoam. Newspaper and inserts, loose or bundled Magazines and junk mail Clean corrugated cardboard, no wax coated and please flatten boxes Aluminum cans and clean aluminum foil Rinsed tin cans now go into the scrap metal box Used motor oil and oil filters (5 gallons or less per visit accepted in 1 gallon containers) Household and automotive batteries Latex paint (5 gallons or less per visit) Textiles - Clothes and shoes Yard waste (2 cubic yards per day per resident; under 4 inch diameter and 4 feet long accepted) Scrap metal and appliances--NO COMMERCIAL Sharps (In approved bio-hazard containers in the kiosks.) NO mattresses or box springs are accepted Electronic Equipment is Acceptable at the Recycling Centers as long it can safely go into the Compactor Boxes. Oversized Electronics will need to be brought to the Baseline Landfill for Proper Disposal. No Business generated E-waste accepted. NO furniture except on designated days
