Description: Pollution Solution--Located at 2115 East State Road 32, Winchester, IN A Place to Dispose of Household Products in an Environmentally Friendly Manner Categories of items that may be dropped off are: Household Hazardous Waste, Fluorescent Bulbs, Batteries, Electronics, Tires and Appliances. 2012 Operating Dates March 16th & 17th April 20th & 21st May 18th & 19th June 15th & 16th July 20th & 21st August 17th & 18th September 14th & 15th October 19th & 20th * Friday operating hours are from 9:00am until 3:00pm **Saturday operating hours are from 8:00am until 12:00pm 2012 Fees There is a minimal charge for all tires. At this time Pollution Solution allows each resident of the county to dispose of 4 CAR TIRES ONLY for FREE. Description: BASWA does not accept any hazardous material. This includes sludge, oils degreasers, solvents, paints or mercury containing objects. Visual inspections are done at the time of bailing remove any of the items above. BASWA does recycle used oils and has a contractor come and remove this material. BASWA separates tires, scrap iron materials tires and any white goods (ovens, washer, driers, freezers) these white goods are taken for a $5 charge and when we have a full dumpster of them we take them to the scrap iron dealer. Tires and paints are held until an amnesty day is given for the specific item then they are turned in. All yard debris (grass, mulch, woodchips) are taken to the compost area of landfill and dumped off and used to produce compost which is sold at 5$ per pickup load to public. Wood material such as brush is dropped off at the brush location at landfill for free and when area is full we have it chipped and is free to the public and also used in the landfill.

Description: See notes regarding residential & commercial garbage pick-up, recycling depot & HHW round-up HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS ROUND-UP: Each fall on an annual basis the Town holds a Toxic Waste Roundup at the Public Works Shop located at 5444 - 56 Avenue. The 2008 Round-up will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2008 from 10:a.m. till 2:00 p.m. Some of the materials you may dispose of include: * painting wastes * degreasers and other solvents * waste acids * rust removers * alkaline cleaning fluids * old battery acid * aerosols * materials containing heavy metals such as mercury, lead or cadmium RECYCLING DROP-OFF: The Canadian Waste Services is responsible for the collecting of Lacombe's recycling material. Drop off bins have been provided at the existing site, 4518 - 44 Avenue, and the following materials will be collected: * corrugated cardboard and boxboard * magazines * office and mixed paper * newspaper * tin cans * H.D.P.E. #2 plastics - coloured and clear, blown and injection mould (i.e. milk) containers Unchanged will be the Town's current collection system of cardboard using brown bins located in the commercial areas of the town and the current door to door \"blue box\" system being offered privately by Albertans Recycle. Albertans Recycle picks up glass, tin cans, #2 plastic, cardboard and newspaper every Thursday for $5.00 per month. For more information please call Les Grobel at 347-1513. COMMERCIAL GARBAGE PICK-UP: * Every commercial property is charged a fee for garbage collection and disposal. * Bins for cardboard only are also available. * The minimum commercial garbage charge for 2 months is $63. * Fees are based on the number of bins and the frequency of pickups, based on multiples of $126. * An extra pickup is 24.90 per bin. * Bins for use during construction are to be arranged through Public Works. RESIDENTIAL GARBAGE PICK-UP : * The flat rate is $34 per two months for residential garbage pickup. * The flat rate does not vary with the amount of usage. * Properties with lanes are provided with shared large beige bins for household garbage, which are emptied once per week. * Properties without lanes are provided with black roll out bins, that should be placed at the end of your driveway by 7 a.m. the day of pickup. * Care of roll out bins is the responsibility of the resident.
