We are committed to the environment by keeping materials out of the landfill. Besides recycling standard items such as paper and #1 & #2 plastics, residents can also recycle electronics, appliances, motor oil and filters, rechargeable batteries, sharps and more. ReCyclone, Dunn County's recycling mascot, works with the community to promote waste reduction and recycling efforts through education. ReCyclone, "a force of nature for nature" has been spotted at schools, civic organizations, fairs, parades, and festivals.

Description: St. Joseph is home to a permanent Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) collection facility which accepts various residential materials on a free drop-off basis. The Solid Waste Management District's Household Hazardous Waste Program has two main goals: 1. To educate the public about household hazardous waste. 2. To make available safe and acceptable disposal options for household hazardous waste. Drop Off Hazardous Waste: Electronics from businesses and institutions will be accepted only through prior arrangements with the district. St. Joseph County residents will be able to deliver electronics to the HHW sites during regular business hours. All electronics are accepted free of charge. Tires- $1 per if off rim, $2 if on Please note that latex paint can be dried out and put in your trash.
