Mt. Pleasant Collection Event - June 29, 2019

The Isabella Conservation District was established in 1949. We are housed in a federal office, co-located with the Natural Resources Conservation Service. We service the landowners of Isabella County, we assist them in identifying any and all resource concerns. We provide technical assistance, information/education, and cost-share assistance when available. The conservation district employs a Michigan Agricultural Environmental Assurance Program Technician, a full Environmental Education Coordinator, a Program Technician, and District Administrator. The district has 5 directors that serve on the district board. We have a Chairman, a Vice Chairman, a Treasurer, and 2 directors. We host a Household Hazardous Waste/Clean Sweep Program. Tire Recycling Collections, on June 29th we will be holding our first Electronic Waste Collection. We have an abandoned well program. We provide information and education regarding the importance of closing these wells. If our landowners work with licensed well drillers we will pay up to $225.00 to close up to a 2" well, and $375.00 for up to a 5" well. For special circumstances we will pay more for some wells. We serve on many boards and committees. The district recently purchase property and our goal is to construct a facility to develop a regional Electronic Waste Recycling Facility and hold all of our collections at this facility.
