Description: This is a self-serve, indoor, drop-off center for clean and sorted recyclables. Open to all households and businesses; fees may apply, read below. Please stop in for a tour and learn the best way to recycle from friendly people who can answer your questions. We are here to help! FREE RECYCLING Recycle only: cardboard, styrofoam, batteries – no charge. Non-profit and community groups can recycle all materials free. RECYCLING FEES Annual membership recommended for households who use our center all their recycling needs. This is a one time fee, good for an entire year. Regular:$45 Super Recycler: $65 For household recycling without membership: $2 per visit. Electronic Waste Recycling: Up to $0.25 per pound. (not included with membership or door fee) Business: Annual membership based on materials to be recycled and quantities. Business membership plans range from $45 to $125 per year. Invoices and receipts can be provided. Please note that we accept cardboard recycling free. We can handle large quantities.

South Kent Waste & Recycling Center serves as one of Kent County's Collection Sites for a variety of materials including but not limited to bulk cardboard recycling, electronics recycling, tire recycling, appliance recycling, in addition to landfill services. Sanilac Conservation District accepts during business hours unwanted electronics (NO televisions). Sanilac County Humane Society accepts ink cartridges Sandusky Walmart accepts plastic shopping bags. Our Household Hazardous Waste/Clean Sweep, Tire Collections are held at the Isabella County Fair Grounds located at 500 North Mission, Mt. Pleasant, MI. Our HHW/Clean Sweep dates are May 18th & October 5th, 2019. Tire Recycling will be held June 8th & 14th, 2019. These collections are from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The Electronic Waste Collection will be held on June 29th, 2019 also at the fairgrounds from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Materials:

Description: The Isabella Conservation District was established in 1949. We are housed in a federal office, co-located with the Natural Resources Conservation Service. We service the landowners of Isabella County, we assist them in identifying any and all resource concerns. We provide technical assistance, information/education, and cost-share assistance when available. The conservation district employs a Michigan Agricultural Environmental Assurance Program Technician, a full Environmental Education Coordinator, a Program Technician, and District Administrator. The district has 5 directors that serve on the district board. We have a Chairman, a Vice Chairman, a Treasurer, and 2 directors. We host a Household Hazardous Waste/Clean Sweep Program. Tire Recycling Collections, on June 29th we will be holding our first Electronic Waste Collection. We have an abandoned well program. We provide information and education regarding the importance of closing these wells. If our landowners work with licensed well drillers we will pay up to $225.00 to close up to a 2" well, and $375.00 for up to a 5" well. For special circumstances we will pay more for some wells. We serve on many boards and committees. The district recently purchase property and our goal is to construct a facility to develop a regional Electronic Waste Recycling Facility and hold all of our collections at this facility.
