Welcome to Missouri's Materials Management Directory!

This Directory will allow users to find local contractors, vendors and drop off locations offering recycling, reuse, and disposal services. If you are a business or other organization involved in materials or waste management in Missouri, we encourage you to add your business and the services you provide to the Directory.

Directory Instructions

The Missouri Materials Management Directory is not intended as an endorsement or warranty by/from the Missouri Department of Natural Resources or the Waste Management Districts. The business listing found in the Directory database is from information submitted by that specific business. For additional information, contact the Waste Management program by email at wmp@dnr.mo.gov, or by phone at (573) 751-5401 or (800) 361-4827 or your local Solid Waste Management District.

Reduce, reuse and recycle, the three R’s for waste management, are effective measures that serve as alternatives to disposing of waste materials in landfills. Today, we have options available for handling the solid waste that we produce that return those valuable materials for productive re-use. The Department of Natural Resources promotes an integrated approach to solid waste management, using a combination of alternatives.

Missouri’s goal to maximize waste reduction is ongoing and we have made progress, but we need to go further. While our focus remains on reducing the amount of waste materials we produce, we need to carefully consider the types of waste we produce and whether or not these waste materials are hazardous and what their long-term impact will be on the environment.

Missouri has many recycling centers that accept different kinds of recyclable materials, including electronics and appliances. By recycling, we can conserve natural resources and energy. Recycled materials can be processed and made into new products, so it's not only important to recycle, but to purchase goods with recycled content. By reducing, reusing and recycling you can help protect our water, air, land, energy and cultural resources. Composting is a great way to reuse organic material and easy for families to implement. A great way for you to get started is through use of our Composting webpage.

As noted above we're continuing to work with Missouri's twenty Solid Waste Management Districts to update this Missouri Material Management Directory.
