Description: The Athens-Hocking Solid Waste District is the most beautiful solid waste district in all of Ohio. The goal of the solid waste district is to reduce, reuse, and recycle solid waste that is generated in the district and to develop plans and programs and evaluate its successes. The district is responsible for planning and implementing, and the oversight of a 15 year comprehensive management plan. Our primary goal is to reduce, reuse, and recycle and eliminate adverse impacts of waste materials on public health and the environment. We do this by providing information and opportunities, expertise to businesses and residents, and providing programs that support sustainable materials management to reduce the environmental impact of waste. The Sutton Road Recycling Center is on Sutton Road in Logan Ohio. The Sutton Road Recycling Center is a Center for Hard to Recycle Materials (CHaRM) where common unwanted items may be dropped off by appointment only. The Athens Hocking Solid Waste District will partner with local organizations so accepted materials will be reused, up-cycled, recycled or properly disposed. The Sutton Recycling Center located at 33845 Sutton Rd. in Logan, Ohio also serves as a 24 hour, 7 day a week household recycling & cardboard drop-off location. The Sutton Recycling Center is one of the busiest locations of the district’s 22 drop-off locations.

Description: American Waste is a privately-owned and operated family business, founded by Edward Ascione Sr. in 1971, and established as American Waste by his sons Eddie and Michael Ascione in 2002. We have 10 locations and 400 employees in Michigan. We operate two Material Recovery Facilities: • Traverse City single stream residential and business MRF, operational since 2011 • Kalkaska construction and demolition MRF, operational since 2008 We offer curbside recycling in Grand Traverse County, and operate 50 drop off recycling centers throughout Northern Michigan. Our Traverse City MRF processes recycled materials from 19 Michigan counties: Antrim, Benzie, Charlevoix, Emmet, Grand Traverse, Kalkaska, Leelanau, Manistee, Missaukee and Wexford counties in our surrounding area, and also Bay, Clare, Crawford, Genesee, Ingham, Mason, Oscoda, Otsego and Roscommon. We recycle up to 115 tons of material a day, and ship out 120 semi loads per month full of steel, aluminum, OCC, mixed paper, office paper, natural HDPE, colored HDPE, PET, and mixed plastics. 99% of the materials we receive are recycled or reused.

Description: Alpena Resource Recovery Facility (ARRF) is a one-stop recycling facility. Residents in Alpena County pay $20.00 a year on their taxes to operate ARRF. Residents from out of county must get a permit to use our recycling bins, either by stopping by ARRF 4395 M32 West Alpena, Mi., or sending a check for $50.00 to NEMCOG PO Box 457, Gaylord, Mi. 49734, and a permit will be mailed out. Permits are good for one year from the date of purchase. Businesses are required to get a Business permit to recycle. Costs are $300.00 a year and the Businesses are required to bring their recyclables to Recycling Facility at 4395 M32 West, Alpena. These permits are good for one year from the date of purchase. On the web go to Alpena Recycling.org/Discover Northeast Michigan. On our home page you will find "What do I do with", click on an item you wish to recycle or dispose of. Even better fill out the information on the left and our Recycling Genie will do all the work for you. The Genie will direct you to either dispose of, direct you to the nearest recycling bin, or bring the item to ARRF for recycling. We have 9 sites in Alpena County where residents can drop off recyclables. These sites are listed below and on our home page on the Web. Contamination is a very big problem. On each of the 9 recycling bins is a list of items to recycle, and not to recycle. We ask that you pay close attention to the no's to recycling. We have an annual Countywide Cleanup day usually on the 1st Saturday of May and an electronics collection on the 1st Saturday of June. Some fees may apply. Check our website for details. All other materials must be brought to the recycling facility on M32. During the months of May through October, we collect tires, Household hazardous waste, and paint. Description: Sands Township is a municipal entity in central Marquette County, MI. We are located south of the city of Marquette and north of Gwinn. Sands Township provides residents with garbage pickup and drop-off recycling services. Drop-off recycling is available at the Sands Township Transfer Station located at 55 Flodin Road, approximately 4 miles south of the Sands Township Office Complex on M553.
