Description: The life of a tire at Granuband When a tire has reached its maximum mileage, it is handed over to Granuband. But this does not mean that the tire has come to the end of its useful life - in fact, this is just the beginning of a new phase. Embarking on a new path. Creating a brand new product. A green light for a second or even a third life - perhaps as playground surfacing, granules for a football pitch or a rubber terrace tile. Tires take on a new lease of life as new rubber products. From generation to generation. Car/passenger tires: Less than 10 = $3 each More than ten = prorated at $110/ton Semi truck tires: Less than 10 = $20 each More than 10 = prorated at $150/ton Tractor Tires: Less than 10 = $50 each More than 10 = prorated at $200/ton Trailer load of mixed size tires = $130/ton

Listed hours are for small vehicle drop off. Main hours are Monday through Friday 7:00 am to 4:00 pm, and Saturday 8:00 am to 2:00 pm.
Materials:

Description: The City of Columbia Bioreactor Landfill operates using environmentally-sound engineering practices for disposal of solid waste while complying with state and federal regulations. The current disposal cell (Cell 5) is the second cell permitted to operate as a bioreactor, where liquids are added to the waste to accelerate decomposition, waste stabilization, and gas production. Methane gas generated from the landfill is being converted to electricity at the on-site Bioenergy Plant operated by the Water & Light Department since June 2008. A small vehicle drop-off is available for customers that want to avoid driving on the landfill. The small vehicle drop-off containers are located immediately after passing the scale house. This drop-off location is intended to improved customer convenience and operational safety since driving onto the landfill could be hazardous for small vehicles.
