Operated by the Washtenaw County Office of the Water Resources Commissioner and the Board of Public Works, the program seeks to address the environmental and public health effects resulting from improper handling and disposal of home toxics. We are committed to reducing the use of home toxics and to informing citizens about the choices and responsibilities associated with purchasing, handling and disposing of toxic substances. When preparing to buy new products for your home, read the label first to see if it poses a threat. The product may be hazardous if words such as: warning, caution, flammable, poison, danger, corrosive, combustible, toxic and / or hazardous are on the label.
